The Triumphal Entry
1And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,
2And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.
3And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.
4And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.
5And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?
6And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.
7And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.
8And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.
9And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:
10Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.
11And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.
The Fig Tree Withered

12And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
13And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
14And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
Jesus Cleanses the Temple

15And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;
16And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.
17And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
18And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
19And when even was come, he went out of the city.
The Lesson of the Withered Fig Tree
20And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
22And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Forgiveness and Prayer
25And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Jesus’ Authority Questioned
27And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,
28And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?
29And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
30The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.
31And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?
32But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.
33And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.

1Ora, quando se aproximavam de Jerusalém, de Betfagé e de Betânia, junto do Monte das Oliveiras, enviou Jesus dois dos seus discípulos
2e disse-lhes: Ide à aldeia que está defronte de vós; e logo que nela entrardes, encontrareis preso um jumentinho, em que ainda ninguém montou; desprendei-o e trazei-o.
3E se alguém vos perguntar: Por que fazeis isso? respondei: O Senhor precisa dele, e logo tornará a enviá-lo para aqui.
4Foram, pois, e acharam o jumentinho preso ao portão do lado de fora na rua, e o desprenderam.
5E alguns dos que ali estavam lhes perguntaram: Que fazeis, desprendendo o jumentinho?
6Responderam como Jesus lhes tinha mandado; e lho deixaram levar.
7Então trouxeram a Jesus o jumentinho e lançaram sobre ele os seus mantos; e Jesus montou nele.
8Muitos também estenderam pelo caminho os seus mantos, e outros, ramagens que tinham cortado nos campos.
9E tanto os que o precediam como os que o seguiam, clamavam: Hosana! bendito o que vem em nome do Senhor!
10Bendito o reino que vem, o reino de nosso pai Davi! Hosana nas alturas!
11Tendo Jesus entrado em Jerusalém, foi ao templo; e tendo observado tudo em redor, como já fosse tarde, saiu para Betânia com os doze.
A figueira seca – Mateus 21.18-22

12No dia seguinte, depois de saírem de Betânia teve fome,
13e avistando de longe uma figueira que tinha folhas, foi ver se, porventura, acharia nela alguma coisa; e chegando a ela, nada achou senão folhas, porque não era tempo de figos.
14E Jesus, falando, disse à figueira: Nunca mais coma alguém fruto de ti. E seus discípulos ouviram isso.

15Chegaram, pois, a Jerusalém. E entrando ele no templo, começou a expulsar os que ali vendiam e compravam; e derribou as mesas dos cambistas, e as cadeiras dos que vendiam pombas;
16e não consentia que ninguém atravessasse o templo levando qualquer utensílio;
17e ensinava, dizendo-lhes: Não está escrito: A minha casa será chamada casa de oração para todas as nações? Vós, porém, a tendes feito covil de salteadores.
18Ora, os principais sacerdotes e os escribas ouviram isto, e procuravam um modo de o matar; pois o temiam, porque toda a multidão se maravilhava da sua doutrina.
19Ao cair da tarde, saíam da cidade.
20Quando passavam na manhã seguinte, viram que a figueira tinha secado desde as raízes.
21Então Pedro, lembrando-se, disse-lhe: Olha, Mestre, secou-se a figueira que amaldiçoaste.
22Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Tende fé em Deus.
23Em verdade vos digo que qualquer que disser a este monte: Ergue-te e lança-te no mar; e não duvidar em seu coração, mas crer que se fará aquilo que diz, assim lhe será feito.
24Por isso vos digo que tudo o que pedirdes em oração, crede que o recebereis, e tê-lo-eis.
25Quando estiverdes orando, perdoai, se tendes alguma coisa contra alguém, para que também vosso Pai que está no céu, vos perdoe as vossas ofensas.
26[Mas, se vós não perdoardes, também vosso Pai, que está no céu, não vos perdoará as vossas ofensas.]

27Vieram de novo a Jerusalém. E andando Jesus pelo templo, aproximaram-se dele os principais sacerdotes, os escribas e os anciãos,
28que lhe perguntaram: Com que autoridade fazes tu estas coisas? ou quem te deu autoridade para fazê-las?
29Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Eu vos perguntarei uma coisa; respondei-me, pois, e eu vos direi com que autoridade faço estas coisas.
30O batismo de João era do céu, ou dos homens? respondei-me.
31Ao que eles arrazoavam entre si: Se dissermos: Do céu, ele dirá: Então por que não o crestes?
32Mas diremos, porventura: Dos homens? - É que temiam o povo; porque todos verdadeiramente tinham a João como profeta.
33Responderam, pois, a Jesus: Não sabemos. Replicou-lhes ele: Nem eu vos digo com que autoridade faço estas coisas.

1 Cuando se acercaban a Jerusalén, junto a Betfagé y a Betania, frente al monte de los Olivos, Jesús envió dos de sus discípulos,
2 y les dijo: Id a la aldea que está enfrente de vosotros, y luego que entréis en ella, hallaréis un pollino atado, en el cual ningún hombre ha montado; desatadlo y traedlo.
3 Y si alguien os dijere: ¿Por qué hacéis eso? decid que el Señor lo necesita, y que luego lo devolverá.
4 Fueron, y hallaron el pollino atado afuera a la puerta, en el recodo del camino, y lo desataron.
5 Y unos de los que estaban allí les dijeron: ¿Qué hacéis desatando el pollino?
6 Ellos entonces les dijeron como Jesús había mandado; y los dejaron.
7 Y trajeron el pollino a Jesús, y echaron sobre él sus mantos, y se sentó sobre él.
8 También muchos tendían sus mantos por el camino, y otros cortaban ramas de los árboles, y las tendían por el camino.
9 Y los que iban delante y los que venían detrás daban voces, diciendo: !!Hosanna! !!Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor!
10 !!Bendito el reino de nuestro padre David que viene! !!Hosanna en las alturas!
11 Y entró Jesús en Jerusalén, y en el templo; y habiendo mirado alrededor todas las cosas, como ya anochecía, se fue a Betania con los doce.
Maldición de la higuera estéril - (Mt. 21.18-19)

12 Al día siguiente, cuando salieron de Betania, tuvo hambre.
13 Y viendo de lejos una higuera que tenía hojas, fue a ver si tal vez hallaba en ella algo; pero cuando llegó a ella, nada halló sino hojas, pues no era tiempo de higos.
14 Entonces Jesús dijo a la higuera: Nunca jamás coma nadie fruto de ti. Y lo oyeron sus discípulos.

17 Y les enseñaba, diciendo: ¿No está escrito: Mi casa será llamada casa de oración para todas las naciones? Mas vosotros la habéis hecho cueva de ladrones.
18 Y lo oyeron los escribas y los principales sacerdotes, y buscaban cómo matarle; porque le tenían miedo, por cuanto todo el pueblo estaba admirado de su doctrina.
19 Pero al llegar la noche, Jesús salió de la ciudad.
La higuera maldecida se seca - (Mt. 21.19-22)
20 Y pasando por la mañana, vieron que la higuera se había secado desde las raíces.
21 Entonces Pedro, acordándose, le dijo: Maestro, mira, la higuera que maldijiste se ha secado.
22 Respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Tened fe en Dios.
23 Porque de cierto os digo que cualquiera que dijere a este monte: Quítate y échate en el mar, y no dudare en su corazón, sino creyere que será hecho lo que dice, lo que diga le será hecho.
24 Por tanto, os digo que todo lo que pidiereis orando, creed que lo recibiréis, y os vendrá.
25 Y cuando estéis orando, perdonad, si tenéis algo contra alguno, para que también vuestro Padre que está en los cielos os perdone a vosotros vuestras ofensas.
26 Porque si vosotros no perdonáis, tampoco vuestro Padre que está en los cielos os perdonará vuestras ofensas.
La autoridad de Jesús - (Mt. 21.23-27; Lc. 20.1-8)
27 Volvieron entonces a Jerusalén; y andando él por el templo, vinieron a él los principales sacerdotes, los escribas y los ancianos,
28 y le dijeron: ¿Con qué autoridad haces estas cosas, y quién te dio autoridad para hacer estas cosas?
29 Jesús, respondiendo, les dijo: Os haré yo también una pregunta; respondedme, y os diré con qué autoridad hago estas cosas.
30 El bautismo de Juan, ¿era del cielo, o de los hombres? Respondedme.
31 Entonces ellos discutían entre sí, diciendo: Si decimos, del cielo, dirá: ¿Por qué, pues, no le creísteis?
32 ¿Y si decimos, de los hombres...? Pero temían al pueblo, pues todos tenían a Juan como un verdadero profeta.
33 Así que, respondiendo, dijeron a Jesús: No sabemos. Entonces respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Tampoco yo os digo con qué autoridad hago estas cosas.
