Luke 4
The Temptation of Jesus: Satan Tempts Jesus
His Temptation
1And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
2Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
3And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
4And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
5And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
8And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
9And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
10For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
11And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
12And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
13And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
Jesus' Public Ministry: Jesus Begins His Galilean Ministry
14And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
15And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
In the Synagogue: Jesus Rejected at Nazareth
16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
22And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?
23And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.
24And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.
25But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;
26But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.
27And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.
28And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
29And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.
30But he passing through the midst of them went his way,
31And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.
32And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
Synagogue in Capernaum
Jesus Casts Out an Unclean Spirit
33And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
34Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
35And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
36And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
Peter’s Mother-in-Law Healed
38And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
39And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.
Many Healed After Sabbath Sunset
40Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
41And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.
Jesus Preaches in Galilee
42And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.
43And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
44And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.

A tentação de Jesus – Mt 4.1-11; Mc 1.12,13
Sua tentação
1Jesus, pois, cheio do Espírito Santo, voltou do Jordão; e era levado pelo Espírito no deserto,
2durante quarenta dias, sendo tentado pelo Diabo. E naqueles dias não comeu coisa alguma; e terminados eles, teve fome.
3Disse-lhe então o Diabo: Se tu és Filho de Deus, manda a esta pedra que se torne em pão.
4Jesus, porém, lhe respondeu: Está escrito: Nem só de pão viverá o homem.
5Então o Diabo, levando-o a um lugar elevado, mostrou-lhe num relance todos os reinos do mundo.
6E disse-lhe: Dar-te-ei toda a autoridade e glória destes reinos, porque me foi entregue, e a dou a quem eu quiser;
7se tu, me adorares, será toda tua.
8Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Está escrito: Ao Senhor teu Deus adorarás, e só a ele servirás. 9Então o levou a Jerusalém e o colocou sobre o pináculo do templo e lhe disse: Se tu és Filho de Deus, lança-te daqui abaixo;
10porque está escrito: Aos seus anjos ordenará a teu respeito, que te guardem;
11e: eles te susterão nas mãos, para que nunca tropeces em alguma pedra.
12Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Dito está: Não tentarás o Senhor teu Deus.
13Assim, tendo o Diabo acabado toda sorte de tentação, retirou-se dele até ocasião oportuna.

14Então voltou Jesus para a Galiléia no poder do Espírito; e a sua fama correu por toda a circunvizinhança.
15Ensinava nas sinagogas deles, e por todos era louvado.

Na Sinagoga
16Chegando a Nazaré, onde fora criado; entrou na sinagoga no dia de sábado, segundo o seu costume, e levantou-se para ler.
17Foi-lhe entregue o livro do profeta Isaías; e abrindo-o, achou o lugar em que estava escrito:
18O Espírito do Senhor está sobre mim, porquanto me ungiu para anunciar boas novas aos pobres; enviou-me para proclamar libertação aos cativos, e restauração da vista aos cegos, para pôr em liberdade os oprimidos,
19e para proclamar o ano aceitável do Senhor.
20E fechando o livro, devolveu-o ao assistente e sentou-se; e os olhos de todos na sinagoga estavam fitos nele.
21Então começou a dizer-lhes: Hoje se cumpriu esta escritura aos vossos ouvidos.
22E todos lhe davam testemunho, e se admiravam das palavras de graça que saíam da sua boca; e diziam: Este não é filho de José?
23Disse-lhes Jesus: Sem dúvida me direis este provérbio: Médico, cura-te a ti mesmo; Tudo o que ouvimos teres feito em Cafarnaum, faze-o também aqui na tua terra.
24E prosseguiu: Em verdade vos digo que nenhum profeta é aceito na sua terra.
25Em verdade vos digo que muitas viúvas havia em Israel nos dias de Elias, quando céu se fechou por três anos e seis meses, de sorte que houve grande fome por toda a terra;
26e a nenhuma delas foi enviado Elias, senão a uma viúva em Serepta de Sidom.
27Também muitos leprosos havia em Israel no tempo do profeta Elizeu, mas nenhum deles foi purificado senão Naamã, o sírio.
28Todos os que estavam na sinagoga, ao ouvirem estas coisas, ficaram cheios de ira.
29e, levantando-se, expulsaram-no da cidade e o levaram até o despenhadeiro do monte em que a sua cidade estava edificada, para dali o precipitarem.
30Ele, porém, passando pelo meio deles, seguiu o seu caminho.
A cura de um endemoninhado em Cafarnaum – Mc 1.21-28

31Então desceu a Cafarnaum, cidade da Galiléia, e os ensinava no sábado.
32e maravilharam-se da sua doutrina, porque a sua palavra era com autoridade.
33Havia na sinagoga um homem que tinha o espírito de um demônio imundo; e gritou em alta voz:
34Ah! que temos nós contigo, Jesus, nazareno? vieste destruir-nos? Bem sei quem é: o Santo de Deus.
35Mas Jesus o repreendeu, dizendo: Cala-te, e sai dele. E o demônio, tendo-o lançado por terra no meio do povo, saiu dele sem lhe fazer mal algum.
36E veio espanto sobre todos, e falavam entre si, perguntando uns aos outros: Que palavra é esta, pois com autoridade e poder ordena aos espíritos imundos, e eles saem?
37E se divulgava a sua fama por todos os lugares da circunvizinhança.
A cura da sogra de Pedro – Mt 8.14,15; Mc 1.29-31
38Ora, levantando-se Jesus, saiu da sinagoga e entrou em casa de Simão; e estando a sogra de Simão enferma com muita febre, rogaram-lhe por ela.
39E ele, inclinando-se para ela, repreendeu a febre, e esta a deixou. Imediatamente ela se levantou e os servia.
Muitas outras curas – Mt 8.16,17; Mc 1.32-34
40Ao pôr do sol, todos os que tinham enfermos de várias doenças lhos traziam; e ele punha as mãos sobre cada um deles e os curava.
41Também de muitos saíam demônios, gritando e dizendo: Tu és o Filho de Deus. Ele, porém, os repreendia, e não os deixava falar; pois sabiam que ele era o Cristo.
Jesus vai a um lugar deserto
42Ao romper do dia saiu, e foi a um lugar deserto; e as multidões procuravam-no e, vindo a ele, queriam detê-lo, para que não se ausentasse delas.
43Ele, porém, lhes disse: É necessário que também às outras cidades eu anuncie o evangelho do reino de Deus; porque para isso é que fui enviado.
44E pregava nas sinagogas da Judéia.

Su tentación
1 Jesús, lleno del Espíritu Santo, volvió del Jordán, y fue llevado por el Espíritu al desierto
2 por cuarenta días, y era tentado por el diablo. Y no comió nada en aquellos días, pasados los cuales, tuvo hambre.
3 Entonces el diablo le dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, di a esta piedra que se convierta en pan.
4 Jesús, respondiéndole, dijo: Escrito está: No sólo de pan vivirá el hombre, sino de toda palabra de Dios.
5 Y le llevó el diablo a un alto monte, y le mostró en un momento todos los reinos de la tierra.
6 Y le dijo el diablo: A ti te daré toda esta potestad, y la gloria de ellos; porque a mí me ha sido entregada, y a quien quiero la doy.
7 Si tú postrado me adorares, todos serán tuyos.
8 Respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Vete de mí, Satanás, porque escrito está: Al Señor tu Dios adorarás, y a él solo servirás.
9 Y le llevó a Jerusalén, y le puso sobre el pináculo del templo, y le dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, échate de aquí abajo;
10 porque escrito está:
A sus ángeles mandará acerca de ti, que te guarden;
11 y,
En las manos te sostendrán,

12 Respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Dicho está: No tentarás al Señor tu Dios.
13 Y cuando el diablo hubo acabado toda tentación, se apartó de él por un tiempo.

22 Y todos daban buen testimonio de él, y estaban maravillados de las palabras de gracia que salían de su boca, y decían: ¿No es éste el hijo de José?
23 Él les dijo: Sin duda me diréis este refrán: Médico, cúrate a ti mismo; de tantas cosas que hemos oído que se han hecho en Capernaum, haz también aquí en tu tierra.
24 Y añadió: De cierto os digo, que ningún profeta es acepto en su propia tierra.
25 Y en verdad os digo que muchas viudas había en Israel en los días de Elías, cuando el cielo fue cerrado por tres años y seis meses, y hubo una gran hambre en toda la tierra;
26 pero a ninguna de ellas fue enviado Elías, sino a una mujer viuda en Sarepta de Sidón.
27 Y muchos leprosos había en Israel en tiempo del profeta Eliseo; pero ninguno de ellos fue limpiado, sino Naamán el sirio.
28 Al oír estas cosas, todos en la sinagoga se llenaron de ira;
29 y levantándose, le echaron fuera de la ciudad, y le llevaron hasta la cumbre del monte sobre el cual estaba edificada la ciudad de ellos, para despeñarle.
30 Mas él pasó por en medio de ellos, y se fue.
Un hombre que tenía un espíritu inmundo (Mr. 1.21-28)

31 Descendió Jesús a Capernaum, ciudad de Galilea; y les enseñaba en los días de reposo.
32 Y se admiraban de su doctrina, porque su palabra era con autoridad.
33 Estaba en la sinagoga un hombre que tenía un espíritu de demonio inmundo, el cual exclamó a gran voz,
34 diciendo: Déjanos; ¿qué tienes con nosotros, Jesús nazareno? ¿Has venido para destruirnos? Yo te conozco quién eres, el Santo de Dios.
35 Y Jesús le reprendió, diciendo: Cállate, y sal de él. Entonces el demonio, derribándole en medio de ellos, salió de él, y no le hizo daño alguno.
36 Y estaban todos maravillados, y hablaban unos a otros, diciendo: ¿Qué palabra es esta, que con autoridad y poder manda a los espíritus inmundos, y salen?
37 Y su fama se difundía por todos los lugares de los contornos.
Jesús sana a la suegra de Pedro (Mt. 8.14-15; Mr. 1.29-31)
38 Entonces Jesús se levantó y salió de la sinagoga, y entró en casa de Simón. La suegra de Simón tenía una gran fiebre; y le rogaron por ella.
39 E inclinándose hacia ella, reprendió a la fiebre; y la fiebre la dejó, y levantándose ella al instante, les servía.
Muchos sanados al ponerse el sol (Mt. 8.16-17; Mr. 1.32-34)
40 Al ponerse el sol, todos los que tenían enfermos de diversas enfermedades los traían a él; y él, poniendo las manos sobre cada uno de ellos, los sanaba.
41 También salían demonios de muchos, dando voces y diciendo: Tú eres el Hijo de Dios. Pero él los reprendía y no les dejaba hablar, porque sabían que él era el Cristo.
Jesús recorre Galilea predicando (Mr. 1.35-39)
42 Cuando ya era de día, salió y se fue a un lugar desierto; y la gente le buscaba, y llegando a donde estaba, le detenían para que no se fuera de ellos.
43 Pero él les dijo: Es necesario que también a otras ciudades anuncie el evangelio del reino de Dios; porque para esto he sido enviado.
44 Y predicaba en las sinagogas de Galilea.
