Ministering Women: Many Women Minister to Jesus
1And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,
2And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
3And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.
Parable of the Sower
4And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
5A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
6And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
7And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
8And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
The Purpose of Parables
9And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
10And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
The Parable of the Sower Explained
11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
12Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
13They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
14And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
15But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
Parable of the Lamp
16No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
17For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
18Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.
Jesus’ Mother and Brothers Come to Him
19Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.
20And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.
21And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
Jesus Stills the Sea: Wind and Wave Obey Jesus
22Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.
23But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
24And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
25And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
A Demon-Possessed Man Healed
26And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
27And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
28When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.
29(For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)
30And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.
31And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.
32And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.
33Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.
34When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.
35Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
36They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.
37Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.
38Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,
39Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.
Miracles of Healing: A Girl Restored to Life and a Woman Healed
40And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.
41And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:
42For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.
43And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
44Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
45And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
46And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
47And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
48And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
49While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.
50But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
51And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.
52And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.
53And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
54And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.
55And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.
56And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.

As mulheres que serviram a Jesus
1Logo depois disso, andava Jesus de cidade em cidade, e de aldeia em aldeia, pregando e anunciando o evangelho do reino de Deus; e iam com ele os doze,
2bem como algumas mulheres que haviam sido curadas de espíritos malignos e de enfermidades: Maria, chamada Madalena, da qual tinham saído sete demônios.
3Joana, mulher de Cuza, procurador de Herodes, Susana, e muitas outras que os serviam com os seus bens.
A parábola do semeador – Mt 13.1-9; Mc 4.1-9
4Ora, ajuntando-se uma grande multidão, e vindo ter com ele gente de todas as cidades, disse Jesus por parábola:
5Saiu o semeador a semear a sua semente. E quando semeava, uma parte da semente caiu ã beira do caminho; e foi pisada, e as aves do céu a comeram.
6Outra caiu sobre pedra; e, nascida, secou-se porque não havia umidade.
7E outra caiu no meio dos espinhos; e crescendo com ela os espinhos, sufocaram-na.
8Mas outra caiu em boa terra; e, nascida, produziu fruto, cem por um. Dizendo ele estas coisas, clamava: Quem tem ouvidos para ouvir, ouça.
A explicação da parábola – Mt 13.10-23; Mc 4.10-20
9Perguntaram-lhe então seus discípulos o que significava essa parábola.
10Respondeu ele: A vós é dado conhecer os mistérios do reino de Deus; mas aos outros se fala por parábolas; para que vendo, não vejam, e ouvindo, não entendam.
11É, pois, esta a parábola: A semente é a palavra de Deus.
12Os que estão à beira do caminho são os que ouvem; mas logo vem o Diabo e tira-lhe do coração a palavra, para que não suceda que, crendo, sejam salvos.
13Os que estão sobre a pedra são os que, ouvindo a palavra, a recebem com alegria; mas estes não têm raiz, apenas crêem por algum tempo, mas na hora da provação se desviam.
14A parte que caiu entre os espinhos são os que ouviram e, indo seu caminho, são sufocados pelos cuidados, riquezas, e deleites desta vida e não dão fruto com perfeição.
15Mas a que caiu em boa terra são os que, ouvindo a palavra com coração reto e bom, a retêm e dão fruto com perseverança.
A parábola da candeia – Mc 4.21-25
16Ninguém, pois, acende uma candeia e a cobre com algum vaso, ou a põe debaixo da cama; mas põe-na no velador, para que os que entram vejam a luz.
17Porque não há coisa encoberta que não haja de manifestar-se, nem coisa secreta que não haja de saber-se e vir à luz.
18Vede, pois, como ouvis; porque a qualquer que tiver lhe será dado, e a qualquer que não tiver, até o que parece ter lhe será tirado.
A família de Jesus – Mt 12.46-50; Mc 3.31-35
19Vieram, então, ter com ele sua mãe e seus irmãos, e não podiam aproximar-se dele por causa da multidão.
20Foi-lhe dito: Tua mãe e teus irmãos estão lá fora, e querem ver-te.
21Ele, porém, lhes respondeu: Minha mãe e meus irmãos são estes que ouvem a palavra de Deus e a observam.
Jesus acalma uma tempestade – Mt 8.23-27; Mc 4.35-41
22Ora, aconteceu certo dia que entrou num barco com seus discípulos, e disse-lhes: Passemos à outra margem do lago. E partiram.
23Enquanto navegavam, ele adormeceu; e desceu uma tempestade de vento sobre o lago; e o barco se enchia de água, de sorte que perigavam.
24Chegando-se a ele, o despertaram, dizendo: Mestre, Mestre, estamos perecendo. E ele, levantando-se, repreendeu o vento e a fúria da água; e cessaram, e fez-se bonança.
25Então lhes perguntou: Onde está a vossa fé? Eles, atemorizados, admiraram-se, dizendo uns aos outros: Quem, pois, é este, que até aos ventos e à água manda, e lhe obedecem?
A cura do endemoninhado geraseno – Mt 8.28-33; Mc 5.1-14
26Apontaram à terra dos gerasenos, que está defronte da Galiléia.
27Logo que saltou em terra, saiu-lhe ao encontro um homem da cidade, possesso de demônios, que havia muito tempo não vestia roupa, nem morava em casa, mas nos sepulcros.
28Quando ele viu a Jesus, gritou, prostrou-se diante dele, e com grande voz exclamou: Que tenho eu contigo, Jesus, Filho do Deus Altíssimo? Rogo-te que não me atormentes.
29Porque Jesus ordenara ao espírito imundo que saísse do homem. Pois já havia muito tempo que se apoderara dele; e guardavam-no preso com grilhões e cadeias; mas ele, quebrando as prisões, era impelido pelo demônio para os desertos.
30Perguntou-lhe Jesus: Qual é o teu nome? Respondeu ele: Legião; porque tinham entrado nele muitos demônios.
31E rogavam-lhe que não os mandasse para o abismo.
32Ora, andava ali pastando no monte uma grande manada de porcos; rogaram-lhe, pois que lhes permitisse entrar neles, e lho permitiu.
33E tendo os demônios saído do homem, entraram nos porcos; e a manada precipitou-se pelo despenhadeiro no lago, e afogou-se.
34Quando os pastores viram o que acontecera, fugiram, e foram anunciá-lo na cidade e nos campos.
Os gerasenos rejeitam a Jesus – Mt 8.34; Mc 5.14-20
35Saíram, pois, a ver o que tinha acontecido, e foram ter com Jesus, a cujos pés acharam sentado, vestido e em perfeito juízo, o homem de quem havia saído os demônios; e se atemorizaram.
36Os que tinham visto aquilo contaram-lhes como fora curado o endemoninhado.
37Então todo o povo da região dos gerasenos rogou-lhe que se retirasse deles; porque estavam possuídos de grande medo. Pelo que ele entrou no barco, e voltou.
38Pedia-lhe, porém, o homem de quem haviam saído os demônios que o deixasse estar com ele; mas Jesus o despediu, dizendo:
39Volta para tua casa, e conta tudo quanto Deus te fez. E ele se retirou, publicando por toda a cidade tudo quanto Jesus lhe fizera.
O pedido de Jairo – Mt 9.18,19; Mc 5.21-24
40Quando Jesus voltou, a multidão o recebeu; porque todos o estavam esperando.
41E eis que veio um homem chamado Jairo, que era chefe da sinagoga; e prostrando-se aos pés de Jesus, rogava-lhe que fosse a sua casa;
42porque tinha uma filha única, de cerca de doze anos, que estava à morte. Enquanto, pois, ele ia, apertavam-no as multidões.
A cura de uma mulher enferma – Mt 9.20-22; Mc 5.25.-34
43E certa mulher, que tinha uma hemorragia havia doze anos [e gastara com os médicos todos os seus haveres] e por ninguém pudera ser curada,
44chegando-se por detrás, tocou-lhe a orla do manto, e imediatamente cessou a sua hemorragia.
45Perguntou Jesus: Quem é que me tocou? Como todos negassem, disse-lhe Pedro: Mestre, as multidões te apertam e te oprimem.
46Mas disse Jesus: Alguém me tocou; pois percebi que de mim saiu poder.
47Então, vendo a mulher que não passara despercebida, aproximou-se tremendo e, prostrando-se diante dele, declarou-lhe perante todo o povo a causa por que lhe havia tocado, e como fora imediatamente curada.
48Disse-lhe ele: Filha, a tua fé te salvou; vai-te em paz.
A ressurreição da filha de Jairo – Mt 9.23-26; Mc 5.35-43
49Enquanto ainda falava, veio alguém da casa do chefe da sinagoga dizendo: A tua filha já está morta; não incomodes mais o Mestre.
50Jesus, porém, ouvindo-o, respondeu-lhe: Não temas: crê somente, e será salva.
51Tendo chegado à casa, a ninguém deixou entrar com ele, senão a Pedro, João, Tiago, e o pai e a mãe da menina.
52E todos choravam e pranteavam; ele, porém, disse: Não choreis; ela não está morta, mas dorme.
53E riam-se dele, sabendo que ela estava morta.
54Então ele, tomando-lhe a mão, exclamou: Menina, levanta-te.
55E o seu espírito voltou, e ela se levantou imediatamente; e Jesus mandou que lhe desse de comer.
56E seus pais ficaram maravilhados; e ele mandou-lhes que a ninguém contassem o que havia sucedido.

Mujeres que sirven a Jesús
1 Aconteció después, que Jesús iba por todas las ciudades y aldeas, predicando y anunciando el evangelio del reino de Dios, y los doce con él,
2 y algunas mujeres que habían sido sanadas de espíritus malos y de enfermedades: María, que se llamaba Magdalena, de la que habían salido siete demonios,
3 Juana, mujer de Chuza intendente de Herodes, y Susana, y otras muchas que le servían de sus bienes.
Parábola del sembrador (Mt. 13.1-15,18-23; Mr. 4.1-20)
4 Juntándose una gran multitud, y los que de cada ciudad venían a él, les dijo por parábola:
5 El sembrador salió a sembrar su semilla; y mientras sembraba, una parte cayó junto al camino, y fue hollada, y las aves del cielo la comieron.
6 Otra parte cayó sobre la piedra; y nacida, se secó, porque no tenía humedad.
7 Otra parte cayó entre espinos, y los espinos que nacieron juntamente con ella, la ahogaron.
8 Y otra parte cayó en buena tierra, y nació y llevó fruto a ciento por uno. Hablando estas cosas, decía a gran voz: El que tiene oídos para oír, oiga.
9 Y sus discípulos le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Qué significa esta parábola?
10 Y él dijo: A vosotros os es dado conocer los misterios del reino de Dios; pero a los otros por parábolas, para que viendo no vean, y oyendo no entiendan.
11 Esta es, pues, la parábola: La semilla es la palabra de Dios.
12 Y los de junto al camino son los que oyen, y luego viene el diablo y quita de su corazón la palabra, para que no crean y se salven.
13 Los de sobre la piedra son los que habiendo oído, reciben la palabra con gozo; pero éstos no tienen raíces; creen por algún tiempo, y en el tiempo de la prueba se apartan.
14 La que cayó entre espinos, éstos son los que oyen, pero yéndose, son ahogados por los afanes y las riquezas y los placeres de la vida, y no llevan fruto.
15 Mas la que cayó en buena tierra, éstos son los que con corazón bueno y recto retienen la palabra oída, y dan fruto con perseverancia.
Nada oculto que no haya de ser manifestado (Mr. 4.21-25)
16 Nadie que enciende una luz la cubre con una vasija, ni la pone debajo de la cama, sino que la pone en un candelero para que los que entran vean la luz.
17 Porque nada hay oculto, que no haya de ser manifestado; ni escondido, que no haya de ser conocido, y de salir a luz.
18 Mirad, pues, cómo oís; porque a todo el que tiene, se le dará; y a todo el que no tiene, aun lo que piensa tener se le quitará.
La madre y los hermanos de Jesús (Mt. 12.46-50; Mr. 3.31-35)
19 Entonces su madre y sus hermanos vinieron a él; pero no podían llegar hasta él por causa de la multitud.
20 Y se le avisó, diciendo: Tu madre y tus hermanos están fuera y quieren verte.
21 Él entonces respondiendo, les dijo: Mi madre y mis hermanos son los que oyen la palabra de Dios, y la hacen.
Jesús calma la tempestad (Mt. 8.23-27; Mr. 4.35-41)
22 Aconteció un día, que entró en una barca con sus discípulos, y les dijo: Pasemos al otro lado del lago. Y partieron.
23 Pero mientras navegaban, él se durmió. Y se desencadenó una tempestad de viento en el lago; y se anegaban y peligraban.
24 Y vinieron a él y le despertaron, diciendo: !!Maestro, Maestro, que perecemos! Despertando él, reprendió al viento y a las olas; y cesaron, y se hizo bonanza.
25 Y les dijo: ¿Dónde está vuestra fe? Y atemorizados, se maravillaban, y se decían unos a otros: ¿Quién es éste, que aun a los vientos y a las aguas manda, y le obedecen?
El endemoniado gadareno (Mt. 8.28-34; Mr. 5.1-20)
26 Y arribaron a la tierra de los gadarenos, que está en la ribera opuesta a Galilea.
27 Al llegar él a tierra, vino a su encuentro un hombre de la ciudad, endemoniado desde hacía mucho tiempo; y no vestía ropa, ni moraba en casa, sino en los sepulcros.
28 Este, al ver a Jesús, lanzó un gran grito, y postrándose a sus pies exclamó a gran voz: ¿Qué tienes conmigo, Jesús, Hijo del Dios Altísimo? Te ruego que no me atormentes.
29 (Porque mandaba al espíritu inmundo que saliese del hombre, pues hacía mucho tiempo que se había apoderado de él; y le ataban con cadenas y grillos, pero rompiendo las cadenas, era impelido por el demonio a los desiertos.)
30 Y le preguntó Jesús, diciendo: ¿Cómo te llamas? Y él dijo: Legión. Porque muchos demonios habían entrado en él.
31 Y le rogaban que no los mandase ir al abismo.
32 Había allí un hato de muchos cerdos que pacían en el monte; y le rogaron que los dejase entrar en ellos; y les dio permiso.
33 Y los demonios, salidos del hombre, entraron en los cerdos; y el hato se precipitó por un despeñadero al lago, y se ahogó.
34 Y los que apacentaban los cerdos, cuando vieron lo que había acontecido, huyeron, y yendo dieron aviso en la ciudad y por los campos.
35 Y salieron a ver lo que había sucedido; y vinieron a Jesús, y hallaron al hombre de quien habían salido los demonios, sentado a los pies de Jesús, vestido, y en su cabal juicio; y tuvieron miedo.
36 Y los que lo habían visto, les contaron cómo había sido salvado el endemoniado.
37 Entonces toda la multitud de la región alrededor de los gadarenos le rogó que se marchase de ellos, pues tenían gran temor. Y Jesús, entrando en la barca, se volvió.
38 Y el hombre de quien habían salido los demonios le rogaba que le dejase estar con él; pero Jesús le despidió, diciendo:
39 Vuélvete a tu casa, y cuenta cuán grandes cosas ha hecho Dios contigo. Y él se fue, publicando por toda la ciudad cuán grandes cosas había hecho Jesús con él.
La hija de Jairo, y la mujer que tocó el manto de Jesús (Mt. 9.18-26; Mr. 5.21-43)
40 Cuando volvió Jesús, le recibió la multitud con gozo; porque todos le esperaban.
41 Entonces vino un varón llamado Jairo, que era principal de la sinagoga, y postrándose a los pies de Jesús, le rogaba que entrase en su casa;
42 porque tenía una hija única, como de doce años, que se estaba muriendo.
Y mientras iba, la multitud le oprimía.
43 Pero una mujer que padecía de flujo de sangre desde hacía doce años, y que había gastado en médicos todo cuanto tenía, y por ninguno había podido ser curada,
44 se le acercó por detrás y tocó el borde de su manto; y al instante se detuvo el flujo de su sangre.
45 Entonces Jesús dijo: ¿Quién es el que me ha tocado? Y negando todos, dijo Pedro y los que con él estaban: Maestro, la multitud te aprieta y oprime, y dices: ¿Quién es el que me ha tocado?
46 Pero Jesús dijo: Alguien me ha tocado; porque yo he conocido que ha salido poder de mí.
47 Entonces, cuando la mujer vio que no había quedado oculta, vino temblando, y postrándose a sus pies, le declaró delante de todo el pueblo por qué causa le había tocado, y cómo al instante había sido sanada.
48 Y él le dijo: Hija, tu fe te ha salvado; ve en paz.
49 Estaba hablando aún, cuando vino uno de casa del principal de la sinagoga a decirle: Tu hija ha muerto; no molestes más al Maestro.
50 Oyéndolo Jesús, le respondió: No temas; cree solamente, y será salva.
51 Entrando en la casa, no dejó entrar a nadie consigo, sino a Pedro, a Jacobo, a Juan, y al padre y a la madre de la niña.
52 Y lloraban todos y hacían lamentación por ella. Pero él dijo: No lloréis; no está muerta, sino que duerme.
53 Y se burlaban de él, sabiendo que estaba muerta.
54 Mas él, tomándola de la mano, clamó diciendo: Muchacha, levántate.
55 Entonces su espíritu volvió, e inmediatamente se levantó; y él mandó que se le diese de comer.
56 Y sus padres estaban atónitos; pero Jesús les mandó que a nadie dijesen lo que había sucedido.
